Episode at a Glance

If you ever worry that you don’t have enough time to spend on marketing and list building? You’re in the right place, because today we’re looking at how to simplify your workload with a 3 hour marketing plan.

My guest today is Yissel Espinoza Cervantes who helps driven women create their dream careers without sacrificing their health, family, and happiness.

Speaking of driven women, Yissel is definitely one of them.

And she finds herself in a season of life where other obligations only allow her about 3 hours to work on marketing her business every week.

So, Yissel’s big question was, Where should I spend that time to get the best results?

Though the answer to this question will be different for every coach, Yissel and I did our best to find the aligned answer for her.

Here’s the process we followed to get there:

  • Create a timeframe as a filter so you feel grounded and clear that the overwhelm you may feel is temporary.
  • Get super honest about how much time you can actually devote to the plan you create. Don’t overshoot this at all. In fact, I recommend that you underestimate the amount of time you’ve got.
  • Set clear goals. What concrete results do you want to accomplish thanks to your plan?
  • Pick one strategy and go all in. You will gain more traction and gather more data by focusing on one strategy than dabbling in a bunch of them.
  • When you’re 85% comfortable and consistent with that one strategy, add the next layer. Sometimes that layer will be a new action. Other times it might be simply doing more of the thing that’s already working.

Now it’s your turn.

Here’s what you’ll learn:

  • Which list building strategy can bring the best results when you don’t have time to waste.
  • Understand how repurposing content and incorporating virtual assistants can streamline your list building process and free you up to do what you’re good at, which is coaching.
  • How to embrace imperfection and give yourself a passing grade while you’re in your busy season of life.

Episode Highlights

How To Create Your 3 Hour Marketing Plan

Yissel Espinosa Cervantes came on the show to streamline her marketing efforts, focusing on list building and attracting clients. With limited time (about three hours a week), we worked to create a simple plan that’s easy to stick to.

Her goals? Build a habit of consistently creating content, showing up on social media twice weekly, and growing her email list by 150 subscribers by the end of the year.

Using the “lazy list building” method, we broke down how two posts a week, combined with intentional engagement (like connecting in DMs), can hit her target.

The takeaway was clear: focus on the highest-impact activities, keep things manageable, and prioritize consistency to stay on track.

Building A Lean And Effective 3 Hour Marketing Plan

We focused on setting a clear framework that fits into a small weekly timeframe of just three hours. Yissel’s goals include maintaining her current client load, growing her email list by 150 subscribers, engaging her audience with weekly emails, consistent social posts, and preparing for new clients after her baby arrives.

Her strategy prioritizes community building over immediate sales, ensuring a strong business foundation for the future. With a virtual assistant helping streamline emails and social posts, Yissel is freeing up time for the personal touches, like follow-ups and coffee chats, that have proven successful in converting leads.

Grow Your Email List Fast

The goal? Add 150 subscribers to your email list every week, giving you real options when it’s time to scale your business.

The foundation includes automations, like prompting users to share your lead magnet opt-in after they sign up. From there, focus on collaborations such as lead magnet swaps, list swaps, and a strategy I call “go live together.”

These moves leverage other people’s communities and build trust fast, way more effectively than podcast pitching. If you’re just starting, prioritize “going live together” for a strong return.

Once you’ve got a list, lead magnet swaps make an even bigger impact. Use this 3-hour marketing plan each week to collaborate, connect, and grow.

How to Nail Your 3 Hour Marketing Plan

Yissel maps out her strategy, starting with wrapping up her lead magnet and automations by June and July. Then, she shifts into outreach in August, aiming to connect with 5-10 people weekly for collaborations.

She’s leveraging tools like ChatGPT to streamline her content creation, turning one original post into multiple variations with ease. Plus, doubling down on efficiency by repurposing Instagram posts as email content.

We also explore how collaborating with communities like the HIVE can open doors to consistent coffee chats and valuable connections, all while keeping time commitments realistic and actionable.

Master Collaborations

Collaborations can help you grow your email list and connect with new audiences. We mapped out a three-month schedule: create your lead magnet in the first month, finish training and set up automations in the second, and start reaching out for collaborations in the third.

The collaboration process involves going live with people who share an audience, tackling a shared topic, exchanging insights, and wrapping up with a strong call-to-action to grow your email lists.

It’s like hosting a mini podcast episode but in a casual, interactive Instagram Live format. Twice a month is all it takes.

Don’t forget to make signups easy by having links ready in your bio and post captions. Easy steps, big impact!

Start by inviting others to go live with you, and agree to share the recording across stories and email lists. Instead of overcomplicating things, keep it streamlined: drive your audience to catch the live, or let them grab the guest’s freebie.

You can repurpose the live by recording your screen or using tools like BIGVU to turn content into captions or scripts. It’s all about consistency and leveraging connections, not creating extras like workshops – just sticking to the plan and letting it work.

Unlock The 3 Hour Marketing Plan For Your Business

I’m all about simplifying marketing, especially if you don’t have loads of time. In this episode, I get into why focusing on one strategy is better than spreading yourself thin over a dozen half-baked ideas. I also break down how to level up your virtual assistant’s role (when they’re ready) by having them focus on either outreach or engagement strategies.

A must-try? A simple DM script that moves Instagram followers onto your email list – think personal, clear, and totally doable in 15 minutes a day.

We round things out with a few tips to stay compliant while collecting email addresses. Don’t overcomplicate it. Consistency and clarity are key!

Collabs help you tap into existing audiences without wasting time or money on ads. Celebrate every subscriber, even if it feels small – three new people a day adds up to something meaningful over time. With just three hours a week, list-building can be a slow burn that pays off big. Stick to your plan, ditch the excuses, and trust the process.
