I’ll be the first to admit that I love bells and whistles. I can’t get enough of learning all about the latest Facebook funnels, webinar strategies, list building techniques, and all the apps, plugins and platforms that go along with them.
You name it, I’ve done the training and I LOVE every part of it.
But sometimes it’s so easy to get distracted by these bright, shiny objects that I forget the easiest way to bring clients without any high tech, big budget productions.
If you want to add two or more new clients to your practice within the week, set aside your plans to invest thousands of dollars in Facebook ads and keep reading…
The big secret behind client attraction is actually letting people know that you’re accepting new clients.
I know… earth shattering, isn’t it?
The process is pretty simple and only requires that you set your fears and ego aside to ask for what you want.
Step One: Create a Compelling Announcement.
I like to put a quick but pretty pdf together with the following components:
1. Share your gratitude for the incredible progress your clients make every day. Highlight one or two in particular and include testimonials if you have them.
2. Announce that you have 2-3 spots open on your client roster for people who crave a specific result. This result should speak directly to the work you do and the client progress you just highlighted.
3. Invite anyone who is serious about the results you outlined to apply for a specially-priced coaching session. Psst… This Client Surge strategy helps you avoid freebie seekers and no-showers.
4. Provide clear instructions for how to apply for the waiver.
I sent a similar letter out to a short list of 36 people and within 48 hours, I had two new strategy sessions already on the books and paid for.
Step Two: Specify the objective.
This is not a complimentary enrollment session. Instead, it’s what I like to think of as a deep-dive, focused power coaching session (enough descriptors in there for ya?). It’s a paid session where where you’ll dive much deeper than your typical intro session. Plus, you’ll also have plenty of time to enroll them in ongoing coaching at the end.
This power session is designed to accomplish two goals:
1. Roadmap a really clear income producing strategy that they can implement on their own or with you.
2. Explore how, if at all, they want to continue working with you.
Step Three: Offer a money back guarantee.
If your potential client doesn’t get value from their session, they can have their money back. For real.
So many coaches (myself included) offer free intro sessions, which can be effective, but it often attracts dabblers who aren’t actually interested in investing in themselves through your work.
So, instead this is an invitation for a paid one-off session. But, it’s important to eliminate any barriers to entry, so offer your clients a money back guarantee.
Here’s the rub: the client only qualifies for a refund if they request it at the end of your session. They’ve gotta ask for it, which is a big responsibility. The result is that only serious prospects actually take advantage of your offer.
Step Four: Send!
But not just to your list. Ask your loyal fans and followers to share your juicy invitation to their friends and family who might be interested.
Now, here’s where the ego part comes in. I can already hear a few coaches out there saying, “I don’t want to look desperate…I don’t want people to think that I don’t have a successful business.”
Remember this: Even Apple has to advertise. I drove by an Apple billboard today and I didn’t think to myself, “Oh, poor Apple! Business must be going poorly because they have to promote their latest version of the iPhone….”
The same is true for you, my friend.
Advertising is part of doing business. And part of successful advertising, is presenting a clear invitation.
Let’s try some homework, shall we? Brainstorm a specific one off coaching session that you can invite your followers to. Then head on over to our Coaches on a Mission Facebook group and share your success.
